Major reservoirs including Aliyar, Sholayar and Parambikulam are fast filling up thanks to incessant rains in the catchment areas of these dams.
According to officials the inflow has increased into these dams in the past few days. While Aliyar dam the storage level has risen to 72.72 feet against its total storage level of 120 feet. Sholayar has a storage level of 70 /120 feet and Parambikulam 8.30 /72 feet.
While the inflow in to Aliyar has been 319 feet, it is 4139 square feet in Sholayar reservoir and Amaravathi dam has registered a rise of 40/90 in storage level. Valparai has registered 90 mm rainfall in the past twenty four hours.
