Bathing in Kovai Courtallam falls banned due to heavy flooding

Bathing in Kovai  Courtallam falls, one of the main tourist’s attractions in the city has been banned owing to heavy flooding in the waterfalls caused  by incessant rains in Siruvani forests.

Police pickets have been posted in the falls to prevent bathers and tourists entering the arena.

The incessant rains brought about by the South West monsoon in Siruvani forest range has caused flooding and with it small branches and stones might get washed down, causing injury to the bathers.

"The heavy flooding in the falls is not fit for  bathing and it might lead to drowning accidents" said the  police with Forest Officials.
