It is time to go back to school with butterflies in the stomach feeling

It is time to go back to school after the long summer vacation with butterflies in the stomach for all the school children. The school children are seen flocking back to school in the uniforms carrying lunch boxes to the many CBSC and State Board Schools situated across the city.

"The rush hour traffic has only worsened with the school reopening as school buses and private vehicles compete with each other on the narrow arterial roads in Coimbatore. Particularly the stretches where the school are situated more traffic bottle necks are witnessed" said Trffic Police officials.

With the school curriculum is being revamped for the Children studying State Board, the students are CBSC are bit worried as CBSC has also gone in for new syllabi for 10th class.

“With special classes conducted for 10th and Plus two students in both streams in most of the private schools, the students would get back home only late in the evening, leaving little time for rest and study. And there would be extra pressure on students to crack eligibility tests like NEET and JEE, for which many school conduct special classes too” said an Educationist in the city.

“The joy of learning should not be robbed from children, and the children should allowed to enjoy the learning process. Students are not to be seen mark-scoring machines and there should be enough time given for physical activity to improve their health, which is lacking in many schools” Educationists say.
