49 Petitions Received at Coimbatore Corporation Grievance Meeting

A total of 49 petitions relating to civic amenities, certificates, taxation, drinking water and sanitation were received from residents during the grievance redressal meeting held at the Coimbatore Corporation headquarters.

A grievance redressal meeting was held at the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation headquarters on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Mayor K. Ranganayaki Ramachandran and in the presence of Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja.

During the meeting, residents from various parts of the city submitted a total of 49 petitions seeking redressal of civic and public service-related issues.

The petitions covered a wide range of concerns, including birth and death certificates, road infrastructure, streetlights, drinking water supply, underground drainage facilities, professional tax, property tax, vacant land tax, new water connections, name transfer requests, healthcare, sanitation and education-related matters.

According to Corporation officials, the petitions were received from residents across all five zones — East, West, North, South and Central — as well as at the Corporation’s main office.

After receiving the petitions, the Mayor and the Commissioner directed the concerned Assistant Commissioners, engineers and departmental officials to take immediate action on the grievances submitted by the public.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioners T. Kumaresan and R. Saraswathi, City Chief Engineer Vijayakumar, City Health Officer Dr V.C. Subash Gandhi, Town Planning Officer N. Damodaran, City Education Officer Gunasekaran, Assistant Commissioners Narmadha (West), Shanmugam (Central), Dakshinamoorthy (South) and Dakshinamoorthy (East), along with executive engineers, assistant executive engineers, zonal health officers, sanitary inspectors, Corporation officials and members of the public.
