Coimbatore: In a shocking incident captured on CCTV, a woman was thrown into the air after being hit by an out-of-control car in Valparai, Coimbatore district. The horrifying footage has left viewers stunned and raised serious concerns about road safety in the hilly region.

The incident occurred near the Valparai Head Post Office when 65-year-old driver Nagaraj lost control of his car. The vehicle struck 47-year-old Kavitha from Waverley Estate, who was walking on the road at the time. The impact was so severe that it lifted her off the ground and threw her into the air.

After hitting the pedestrian, the car continued its trajectory and finally came to a halt after crashing into a barrier wall opposite the scene. The entire sequence of events was recorded by a nearby surveillance camera, and the footage has since caused widespread shock among residents and social media users.

Kavitha sustained serious injuries in the accident and was initially rushed to the Valparai Government Hospital for emergency treatment. After receiving first aid, she was transferred to Pollachi Government Hospital for advanced medical care due to the severity of her injuries. Medical authorities are closely monitoring her condition.

Local police have registered a case regarding the incident and launched a thorough investigation. Officers are examining the CCTV footage to determine the exact cause of the accident and whether the driver was at fault due to negligence, mechanical failure, or other factors.

The incident has sparked discussions about the need for stricter traffic enforcement in Valparai, particularly given the challenging terrain and narrow roads in the hill station area. Residents have called for enhanced safety measures and regular vehicle inspections to prevent such tragic accidents in the future.
