MLA A.K. Selvaraj Inaugurates Tar Road Construction in Mettupalayam

MLA A.K. Selvaraj initiated a Rs. 1.25 crore tar road construction project in Mettupalayam, Sikkadasampalayam, Jadayampalayam, and Pellepalayam panchayats on August 19. The project aims to improve local infrastructure.


Coimbatore: In a significant move to enhance local infrastructure, MLA A.K. Selvaraj inaugurated a tar road construction project in Mettupalayam and surrounding areas on August 19. The project, estimated at Rs. 1.25 crore, will benefit the panchayats of Mettupalayam, Sikkadasampalayam, Jadayampalayam, and Pellepalayam.

The inauguration ceremony began with MLA Selvaraj performing a Bhoomi Puja to mark the commencement of the road works. This initiative is expected to greatly improve connectivity and transportation in these rural areas.

Several local officials and dignitaries attended the event, showing their support for the development project. Among those present were panchayat presidents Palanisamy, Press Kumar, and Mala. District Councilor P.T. Kandasamy and Panchayat Union Committee Chairperson Manimegalai Mahendran also graced the occasion with their presence.

The construction of tar roads in these panchayats is a welcome development for the residents, who have long awaited better road infrastructure. This project is likely to enhance the quality of life for locals by providing smoother and safer travel conditions.

As the work begins, the local administration hopes to complete the project in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to daily life while delivering maximum benefit to the community.
