Drunken Man Arrested for Creating Ruckus at Pollachi Police Station

A man who threatened schoolgirls while intoxicated in Mahalingapuram, Pollachi, was arrested after causing a disturbance in front of the DSP at the police station.


Coimbatore: A young man under the influence of alcohol was reported to be intimidating female students near a girls' high school in the Mahalingapuram area of Pollachi. Local residents who witnessed the incident immediately alerted the police.

Responding swiftly, the Mahalingapuram police arrived at the scene and brought the individual to the police station. At the time, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jaichandran and other officers were present at the Mahalingapuram police station.



The intoxicated man, shirtless and in a state of inebriation, began causing a commotion at the station. He challenged the officers, shouting, "Beat me... Beat me... You can't do anything to me!" He then proceeded to throw objects within his reach, creating a significant disturbance. The situation caused considerable tension at the police station.

Stunned by the citizen's behavior, the police officers eventually managed to bring him inside the station. Onlookers who witnessed the scene left shaking their heads, commenting, "Even if he's drunk, how can he create such a ruckus inside a police station?"

Upon investigation, the individual was identified as Manikandan from Nandanar Colony. The police are continuing their inquiry into the incident.
