Coimbatore: Lakshmi IPS took charge as the 16th Police Commissioner of Tirupur City today, pledging to prioritize public safety in the metropolitan area. The appointment comes after the transfer of the previous commissioner, Praveen Kumar Abhinapu, to Salem last month.

Lakshmi, who previously served as IGP of the Armed Forces in Chennai, was appointed as the new Police Commissioner of Tirupur City. After assuming office, she addressed the media, outlining her plans for the city's law enforcement.

"Public safety in Tirupur City will be given utmost importance," Lakshmi stated. She announced that regular inspections would be conducted throughout the metropolitan areas to implement measures to prevent criminal activities.
