VHP Files Complaint Against Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam for Allegedly Insulting Hindu Deities in Coimbatore

Vishva Hindu Parishad lodges a complaint at R.S. Puram B-2 Police Station in Coimbatore on July 25, demanding action against Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam for allegedly insulting Hindu gods and beliefs during a protest.

Coimbatore: The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has filed a complaint against members of the Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam (PDK) for allegedly insulting Hindu deities and beliefs. The complaint was lodged at the R.S. Puram B-2 Police Station in Coimbatore on July 25.

According to the complaint, during a protest against the central government's budget, the PDK and its allied organizations conducted a demonstration where they allegedly disrespected Hindu gods and worship practices. The protesters, wearing flowers in their ears, raised slogans like "Govinda for Tamil Nadu," which the VHP claims insulted Hindu deities and religious practices.

The VHP stated that these actions have hurt the sentiments of Hindu believers. They have requested the police to register a case and take action against those involved, accusing them of spreading religious hatred among the people.

The complaint emphasizes that the PDK, which claims to be an atheistic organization, along with its affiliated groups, have offended Hindu religious sentiments through their protest activities. The VHP has urged the authorities to take appropriate legal action against the individuals responsible for what they perceive as an insult to Hindu faith and traditions.
