Guru Vanakkam Day Festival to Promote Mental Peace and Healthy Habits

The 200-year-old Siravanaputam Gaumara Madalayam in Chinnavedam Patti, Coimbatore district, will host the first annual Guru Vanakkam Day on the 21st, aiming to promote mental peace and healthy habits for the current generation.


Coimbatore: The 200-year-old Siravanaputam Gaumara Madalayam in Chinnavedam Patti, Coimbatore district, is set to celebrate its first annual Guru Vanakkam Day on the 21st of this month. This event aims to promote mental peace, good habits, and physical health for the current generation.

Former Director of Collegiate Education and event coordinator Kumarasamy stated that the Guru Vanakkam Day festival is designed to encourage mental tranquility, positive habits, and physical well-being among the present generation. The day has been chosen specifically to help children, families, and youth excel in life without any ailments.



The event, scheduled from 7 AM to 5 PM, will feature a variety of activities including Gurumoortham, temple worship, Valli Kummi dance, other dance performances, and magic shows. The organizers have planned a comprehensive program to engage participants of all ages.



In addition to the cultural programs, the Madalayam premises will host several health and educational initiatives. These include eye check-ups, blood tests, a book exhibition, and nature exhibitions. These additional activities are aimed at providing holistic benefits to the attendees, combining spiritual, cultural, and health aspects in one event.

The Gaumara Madalayam representatives have expressed their enthusiasm for this inclusive event, which they hope will serve as a platform for community engagement and promotion of traditional values alongside modern health practices.
