Revenue Department Reclaims Encroached Land Near Palladam

In Ugaiyanur near Palladam, Tirupur district, around 15 cents of land encroached upon along a 4 km stream was reclaimed by the revenue department following protests by locals.

Coimbatore: In a decisive move by the revenue department, approximately 15 cents of land were reclaimed in Ugaiyanur, close to Palladam, Tirupur district. The land had been illegally encroached upon by individuals named Senthilkumar, Balasubramani, and Satheeskumar, who had occupied parts of the bank along a 4-kilometer stretch of a local stream.

Following multiple complaints and staged protests by the area residents, revenue officials were prompted to take action. They conducted a detailed survey and subsequently removed fencing that marked the encroached areas, effectively returning the land back to its rightful state.

The local community has expressed relief and satisfaction as the reclaimed land along the stream not only preserves the natural landscape but also secures the environmental integrity of the region. The action taken by the revenue department has been applauded as a significant step towards upholding the rule of law and ensuring land justice.
