Bus Cleaner Arrested for Misbehaving with IT Employee in Coimbatore

A bus cleaner was arrested in Coimbatore for inappropriate behavior towards a female IT employee near RV Roundana. The incident occurred yesterday morning as passengers were disembarking.

Coimbatore: A distressing incident unfolded in the bustling RV Roundana area near the Coimbatore Central Prison, leading to the arrest of a bus cleaner for misbehaving with a female IT professional. The Omni bus, traveling from Virudhunagar to Coimbatore, carried the employee who prefers to be identified as Kanmani for privacy reasons.

As passengers disembarked on the morning of May 29, Subash Chandra Bose, a 41-year-old cleaner from Mayavaram Manjilkudi, engaged in what was reported as inappropriate behavior towards Kanmani. Following the incident, Kanmani informed her husband, who along with other passengers confronted Bose.

Bose claimed he merely extended his hand to help her disembark, a statement those present vehemently disputed. The dispute escalated, and despite Bose's attempt to intimidate the onlookers, he eventually left the scene.

The matter did not end there; Kanmani proceeded to file a complaint at the Kattur Police Station. Following her report, Sub Inspector Aiyaasamy acted under the women harassment prevention laws to arrest Subash Chandra Bose.

This quick response underscores the seriousness with which local authorities are treating safety concerns and harassment issues within public transportation.
