Police Arrest Protesters Attempting to Siege Coimbatore Railway Station in Support of Delhi Farmers

In Coimbatore, demonstrators attempting to lay siege to the railway station in solidarity with the farmers' protests in Delhi were arrested by police. They were demanding minimum support prices for agricultural products, among other issues.


Coimbatore: Police arrested a group of individuals attempting to siege the Coimbatore Railway Station today in support of the ongoing farmers' protests in Delhi. These protests, carried out under the banner "Delhi Chalo," have seen participation from various state farmers demanding the implementation of minimum support prices for their produce among other requests.



Various organizations, including the Dravidar Kazhagam, Adi Tamilar Peravai, and Tamil Nadu Right to Life Party, took part in this demonstration, waving black flags and raising slogans against the central BJP government, accusing it of betraying the farmers.

The demonstrators attempted to block the railway station but were intercepted by the police, leading to a sit-in protest on the road. The police subsequently arrested the participants in the sit-in.
