Narikuravar Community Celebrates Pongal in Kinathukadavu, Coimbatore

The Narikuravar community in Kinathukadavu, Coimbatore, celebrated the festival of Pongal. DMK South District Secretary Thalapathi Murugeshan distributed welfare aids to over 40 families.


Coimbatore: The Narikuravar community, a tribal group in Kinathukadavu, Coimbatore, celebrated their version of the Pongal festival yesterday. This celebration, known as 'Samathuva Pongal,' is a symbol of equality and togetherness among the community members.



In a gesture of support and solidarity, Thalapathi Murugeshan, DMK South District Secretary, distributed welfare aids to more than 40 Narikuravar families. He also extended Pongal greetings to the community. Such initiatives highlight the importance of inclusivity and support for tribal communities in preserving their cultural traditions and promoting social welfare.
