Udumalai panchayat union committee meeting ends in chaos as councilors argue

The councilors warned that if the basic needs are not met, they will mobilise the public and engage in protests.


Tirupur: Udumalai panchayat union committee ordinary meeting caused commotion as the councilors made comments against the union committee leader.

Tirupur District Udumalai Panchayat Union Ordinary Meeting was held under the chairmanship of the union president Mahalakshmi Murugan. The councilors of the union committee reported various irregularities in the meeting. In particular, the union committee councilors complained that Mahalakshmi Murugan was going to the initiation ceremony of welfare programs in certain areas and did not come to most of the areas.

Also, the government vehicle used by the Union President was parked and not being used, and was being shown as if it was running.



They said that there is a lot of dominance of brokers in the Udumala Panchayat Union office and they ask for bribes through brokers for any work.



Also, there is a severe shortage of drinking water in various panchayats, including Panchampalayam and Andiya Kauntanur panchayats, but despite informing the authorities of the drinking water drainage board, no appropriate action has been taken and even the individual committee members are not informed about the welfare schemes. The Udumalai Panchayat Union Committee's ordinary meeting caused commotion as the group councilors reported.
