Tirupur: The public of Namakkal have alleged that stale 'shawarma' and grilled chicken stored for four days are being sold in some shops in Namakkal.
While 13 medical college students were admitted at a hospital in Namakkal district after consuming 'shawarma,' a minor girl died after consuming 'Shawarma.' A total of 43 people in Namakkal district have since been admitted to the hospital after consuming 'shawarma.'
The district administration has banned the sale of 'shawarma' in shops across Namakkal district. Food Safety Officer, Lalithambikai inspected all the 'shawarma' shops in Dharapuram in Tirupur district and demanded the permanent closure of all 'shawarma' shops selling stale 'shawarmas' made of spoiled meat.
