May Day - Trade unions hold rally in Coimbatore

From Chinthamani to Kamarajpuram in Coimbatore, trade union representatives and members belonging to the Left wing marched on the occasion of May Day.



Coimbatore: On the occasion of May Day in Coimbatore, a rally was organised by a trade union.

May 1 is celebrated as Labour Day across the world. Various programmes are being held today to commemorate the memory of the martyrs who fought for the rights of the workers.

Representatives and members of the left-wing trade unions took out a rally from Chinthamani to Kamarajpuram in Coimbatore.



The workers who fought for the eight-hour workouts and the sacrifices they made for the rights of the workers were praised.



They urged that the rights of the workers should never be taken away and that the union and state governments should not adopt the hostile attitude of the workers.



They also urged that various measures and schemes should be brought in for the welfare of the workers.



More than 500 workers participated in the rally.
