Cotton was brought for sale by 1,084 farmers from the districts of Tirupur, Karur, Trichy, Dindigul, Erode, and Coimbatore.
Similarly, traders from Tirupur, Dindigul, Erode, Salem, and Coimbatore districts participated in the cotton indirect auction.

The highest price paid in the auction was Rs 8,532 per quintal of cotton, the lowest price was Rs 6,900, and the average price was Rs 7,500.
The auction was held for a total of Rs 2,52,94,719, according to Mr Kannan (in-charge), Senior Secretary, Tirupur Sales Committee. Superintendent Sivakumar had planned the sale.
