New Delhi Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has filed a case in a Surat court for allegedly making derogatory remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's surname at a political rally in Karnataka in 2019.

While the trial in the case was going on in the Surat district magistrate's court, the judge, who delivered the verdict today, sentenced Rahul Gandhi to two years in jail.

At the same time, Rahul Gandhi's bail plea was filed and interim bail was granted. Congress workers across the country have been holding protests and protests against the conviction of Rahul Gandhi and sentenced him to two years in jail.



As part of this, the Coimbatore district Congress workers, led by national secretary Mayura Jayakumar, tried to stage a rail roko protest.



A scuffle broke out between the police and the Congress party workers as the police stopped more than 50 Congress workers who reached coimbatore railway station for this purpose.

Following this, the Congress workers sat on the road and raised slogans.



Following this, the police forcibly arrested all the protestors and took them away.
