Police on the lookout for culprits, who allegedly attacked migrant workers from North India in the city

A complaint was lodged at the Variety Hall police station about the said attack incident on migrant workers.


Coimbatore: Tension prevailed as more than 100 migrant workers from North India gathered in the Town hall area in the city at midnight after unidentified miscreants allegedly attacked some migrant workers.

The police have taken up investigations regarding the alleged attack.



In the last few days, fake videos of migrant workers being attacked have gone viral on social media. The Government of Tamil Nadu took timely and appropriate action against these false allegations by taking various measures.



In the wake of reports that the migrant workers from the Northern states are returning to their native places, the police have created awareness among them and extended them with security.
