In a span of 15 days, City Traffic Police collects Rs.5,01,300 as fine from non-helmet drivers.

The Coimbatore Traffic Police continues to act tough on riders who fail to wear a helmet. Fines were collected and cases were filed against such violators. It has been reported that in the last 15 days alone, 5,013 persons were fined for riding their two wheelers without wearing a helmet and Rs.5,01,300 has been collected as fine from violators.

The City Traffic Police have been continuously conducting awareness campaigns to educate the two-wheeler drivers to wear helmet at all circumstances. Most of the drivers, especially women/teenagers who abstain from wearing helmets raise various uneasiness issues caused by wearing helmets. However, reports affirm that a majority of the people who die out of accidents are victims of severe head injuries, which clearly reinstates to us that wearing helmet is not an option but it's an obligation!
