Hindustan Makkal Sevai Iyakkam petitions Collector to erect Memorial Pillar for 1998 Coimbatore bomb blast victims

In his petition, Lotus Manikandan has stated that 58 people had lost their lives in the 1998 Coimbatore bomb blasts and to perpetuate their memory a memorial pillar should be erected.


Coimbatore: Hindustan Makkal Sevai Iyakkam leader Lotus Manikandan submitted a petition to the District collector, demanding that steps be taken to erect a memorial for those who lost their precious lives in the Coimbatore bomb blasts in 1998.



The petitioners also carried a model pillar for the memorial and banners containing various demands.



“On behalf of Hindustan Makkal Sevai Iyakkam, I would like to thank the present Tamil Nadu government for not releasing those arrested in connection with the Coimbatore blasts," Manikandan said.
