Man arrested for torching auto driver to death near Veeriyampalayam

A load auto rickshaw driver,was torched by an unidentified person after he poured petrol on him.


Coimbatore: Ravi (50), a native of Veeriyampalayam in Coimbatore was a load auto driver. When he was talking to friend Manikandan sitting in his auto in the morning an unidentified man came there and set him ablaze after pouring petrol on him.



Ravi suffered 90 per cent burns and rushed to the Coimbatore government hospital for treatment. However, Ravi succumbed to his injuries.

Peelamedu police,registered a case and launched a man hunt to nab the culprit.

In the meanwhile, Police arrested the culprit Bhupalan (40), a labourer from Nehru Nagar, who poured petrol on Ravi and torched him.
