Indo-Russian Cultural Programme at Mettupalayam - Russians dance to 'Ranjithame' song

Russian dance troupe at a Indo-Russian cultural dance show at a private school near Mettupalayam. They stunned the crowd with dance performance to Ranjithame song.



Coimbatore: A cultural dance programme for India-Russia relations was held at SSVM School near Mettupalayam in Coimbatore district.

The event was held for school children to learn about the culture and dance of the Russian country. More than 20 dancers from Russia participated and showcased their talents by performing various cultural dances of their country.



Also on the occasion, the hit song Ranjithame from the movie Varisu, which was released for Pongal, saw Russian artistes who wore skirts and scarfs worn by Tamil women.



This dance by the Russian troupe impressed the audience a lot. The students also raised slogans and encouraged the artistes.

Thangappan, the Tamil Nadu coordinator of the cultural group, said, "For the past 20 years, we have been touring across India to educate the students about the cultures of India and Russia.

Russian cultural dance performances will be held in various schools and colleges in Tamil Nadu till the end of this month."



Earlier, the school's managing trustee Mohandas and Manimegalai Mohandas paid floral tributes to the Russian artistes by garlanding them in the traditional manner and presenting them with mementos.
