Man and his wife mowed down by TNSTC bus near Alandurai

Rajendran and Devi, both sanitary workers who were proceeding on a bicycle were hit by a TNSTC bus in which they were killed on the spot near Alandurai.



Coimbatore: A man and his wife were killed on the spot when a TNSTC bus mowed them down near Alandurai in Coimbatore.

Rajendran (37) and his wife Devi (31) were residents of Alandurai in Coimbatore. They have two children. Both of them were working as temporary sanitation workers in Puluvapatti town panchayat.

Rajendran and Devi were on their way to work on a bicycle on Siruvani Road this morning when a TNSTC bus rammed into their bicycle and both of them were killed on the spot.

The Alandarai police, who reached the spot, recovered the bodies and sent them to the Coimbatore Government hospital for post-mortem. A case has been registered in connection with the accident.

In the meanwhile, the bus driver of the TNSTC bus surrendered at Thondamuthur police station.
