Sri Krishna Institutions has been declared as 'South India Knowledge Hub' for spoken tutorial programme.


Sri Krishna Institutions of Coimbatore as has been declared as the 'South India Knowledge Hub' for the spoken tutorial programme offered by IIT Bombay.



A MoU was signed by Mohamed Kasim Khan, Project Manager and Training Coordinator, National Mission on Education through ICT with Krishna Educational institutions.

Dr. Sunderraman, CEO of Sri Krishna Institutions presided over the programme. Mohamed Kasim Khan in his speech said, “IIT Bombay is conducting the training programme on open software platform to all college and university students. He said that as of now 28 lakhs of students have been trained under this programme across this country.

He pointed out that many Universities and colleges in India now are collaborating with IIT Spoken Tutorial Programme for this and included in its syllabus. IIT Bombay Spoken Tutorial Programme has about 115 affiliated universities and colleges as knowledge partners.

Many companies use open software today. The Ministry of HRD has taken various efforts to make the software available to the public. The Government of India has adopted the strategies to use open software’s to its websites and it has more confidentiality and security. Students can learn to use the software from the videos presentations which explains the step by step procedures about using the software.

These systems help to improve the employable skills of the students. The MHRD recent reports say that 26 % of the students only immediately got placements after completing their degrees and only 9 % of the rural students know how to prepare and type their resumes. This issue needs to be addressed and improved'
