AIADMK workers block roads in Coimbatore to protest against Edappadi K Palaniswami's arrest in Chennai

AIADMK MLAs led by AIADMK interim General Secretary and leader of the opposition in the Assembly Edappadi K Palaniswami boycotted the Assembly and staged a protest in Chennai on Wednesday, alleging that there was delay in the appointment of R P Udhayakumar as the Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly. They were arrested by the police.


Coimbatore: AIADMK cadres staged a ruckus in the Assembly on Thursday, alleging that there was delay in the appointment of R P Udhayakumar as the Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly.

AIADMK MLAs led by AIADMK interim General Secretary and leader of the opposition in the Assembly Edappadi K Palaniswami boycotted the Assembly and staged a protest in Chennai on Wednesday.



Edappadi K Palaniswami and his MLA supporters were arrested by the police.



AIADMK workers across Tamil Nadu have now begun staging dharnas and road blockades to protest against the arrest of their leader.



As part of the protest, AIADMK cadres gathered at the AIADMK headquarters in Coimbatore and took out a procession carrying the party flag and staged a road blockade near Anna Statue.



They raised slogans condemning the police for arresting AIADMK leaders, including the leader of the opposition. Traffic was disrupted in the area for about 30 minutes due to the sudden road blockade by the AIADMK cadres.
