The Nilgiris: Two persons have been arrested by Forest Department in connection with the death of a 5-year-old female leopard that was caught in a snare kept for trapping wild boar at Kakkachi private tea estate near Selas in the Nilgiris district.
The public informed the Forest Department about the death of the leopard at the Kakkachi private tea estate.
Following this, the forest department came to the area and carried out an investigation.
It was revealed that the leopard had died while being strangled in a snare kept by estate management for trapping wild boar.
Following this, the forest department recovered the body of the leopard and cremated it there after an autopsy. Also, two people were arrested in connection with this incident.
