Coimbatore: To meet the increased travel requirements of passengers ahead of Vinayagar Chathurthi, Southern Railway will operate special train services between Chennai Central and Podanur on September 11 and 14.
The special services will operate via Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode and Tiruppur, providing additional connectivity between Chennai and the Coimbatore region during the festival period.
Accordingly, Train No. 06023 Chennai Central–Podanur Special will leave Chennai Central at 11.50 p.m. on September 11 and reach Podanur Junction at 9 a.m. the following day.
In the return direction, Train No. 06024 Podanur–Chennai Central Special will leave Podanur Junction at 11.30 p.m. on September 14 and reach Chennai Central at 9.25 a.m. the next day.
The trains will stop at Perambur, Tiruvallur, Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode and Tiruppur.
The special trains will comprise AC First Class-cum-AC Two-Tier, AC Two-Tier, AC Three-Tier, Sleeper Class and Luggage-cum-Brake Van coaches.
Advance reservations for the special services will commence at 8 a.m. on September 10.
