Coimbatore: The District Mediation Centre will organise an awareness rally in the city on September 9 as part of the Samadhanam 3.0 initiative, aimed at creating awareness about mediation and its role in resolving pending court cases amicably.
The rally, to be held under the guidance of the Mediation and Conciliation Centre of the Madras High Court, will begin at 9 a.m. from Gate No. 4 of the Coimbatore District Court Complex. The Principal District Judge will flag off the rally, which is expected to be attended by around 300 persons.
As part of the awareness campaign, short films highlighting the importance of mediation will also be screened at places where members of the public gather.
An awareness vehicle of the Tamil Nadu government’s Department of Information and Public Relations will be deployed to screen the short films at various locations across the city.
The vehicle will travel through areas including the railway station, Government Hospital campus, Commissioner of Police’s office, Coimbatore Medical College Hospital, Government Arts College Road and the Integrated Court Complex.
The campaign is aimed at familiarising the public with mediation as an alternative mechanism for resolving disputes and encouraging the settlement of pending cases through mutual consent.
