Gandhi Jayanthi: Bengaluru Special Trains to Thiruvananthapuram, Kannur to Stop at Coimbatore’s Podanur

Coimbatore: Two special trains connecting Bengaluru with Kerala destinations will operate via Podanur in Coimbatore during the Gandhi Jayanthi long weekend, according to Southern Railway.

Accordingly, Train No. 06585 SMVT Bengaluru–Thiruvananthapuram North Express Special will depart SMVT Bengaluru at 4.50 p.m. on October 1 and reach Thiruvananthapuram North at 10 a.m. the following day. The train will halt at Erode, Tiruppur and Podanur, reaching Podanur at 12.58 a.m. on October 2.

The return service, Train No. 06586 Thiruvananthapuram North–Bengaluru Cantonment Express Special, will depart Thiruvananthapuram North at 12.40 p.m. on October 3. It will halt at Podanur, Tiruppur and Erode on its way to Bengaluru.

Another service, Train No. 06595 SMVT Bengaluru–Kannur Express Special, will depart Bengaluru at 9.45 p.m. on October 1 and reach Kannur at 12.50 p.m. the next day. The train will stop at Erode, Tiruppur and Podanur, with its scheduled arrival at Podanur at 5.48 a.m. on October 2.

Its return service, Train No. 06596 Kannur–Bengaluru Cantonment Express Special, will leave Kannur at 4.10 p.m. on October 2 and halt at Podanur, Tiruppur and Erode before reaching Bengaluru Cantonment the following morning.

The Bengaluru–Thiruvananthapuram special will comprise one AC Two-Tier, four AC Three-Tier, seven Sleeper Class and four General Second Class coaches, along with two Divyangjan-friendly/luggage-cum-brake coaches.

The Bengaluru–Kannur special will have one AC Two-Tier, three AC Three-Tier, 10 Sleeper Class and three General Second Class coaches, along with two Divyangjan-friendly/luggage-cum-brake coaches.
