Cab Driver Dies on the Spot After Crashing into Electricity Pole in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: A car driver died on the spot after losing control of his vehicle and crashing into an electric pole near a puncture shop on Union Road in Coimbatore.
The deceased has been identified as Kannan (32), from Javvadhupatti in Ottanchatram taluk, Dindigul district. Kannan drove his own rented car for a living.
On the day of the incident, Kannan was driving from Kavundampalayam towards Edayarpalayam via Union Road when unexpectedly it lost control and swerved sharply towards the right side of the road at high speed.
The car grazed a two-wheeler coming from the opposite direction and, crashed head-on into a cement electric pole erected by the roadside. The front portion of the car was crushed in the impact killingKannan on the spot.
On receiving information, Traffic Investigation Wing police (West) rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to the government hospital for post-mortem.
After the post-mortem, the body was handed over to his family.
Inspector R Viswanathan has registered a case in connection with the accident and is investigating further.
