Ajith's Valimai release:Petrol bomb hurled in front of theatre in Coimbatore

The city police are on the hunt for the mysterious men who hurled petrol bombs outside the Karpagam Complex theatre, this morning in connection with the release of Ajith’s block buster movie, Valimai.



Coimbatore: Coimbatore Ajith fans were left in shock, after miscreants hurled petrol bomb in front of the Karpagam complex here on Thursday, during screening of Ajith's Valimai movie released today. The police rushed to the spot and are investigating the incident.



The most anticipated movie, ‘Valimai, starred by Ajith Kumar released on the 24th, Pan India, and the fans have been celebrating the releae since last night. The movie was scheduled to release at 5 AM this morning and fans celebrated by bursting crackers and were gathered in front of the theatres.

At around 5 am, when the first show began, reportedly, two men in a two wheeler hurled petrol bomb outside of the Ganga-Yamuna-Kaveri, theatre, known as the Karpagam Complex, located in 100 ft road in Gandhipuram, here.



The bomb that fell near the parking lot caused slight damage to a two wheeler, however, serious consequences were avoided as the vehicles were immediately removed from the spot.

Police were deployed at several theatres to avoid last minute scuffles due to housefull status prevailing in most of the theatres in the city.In Archana/Dharsana theatre in Coimbatore Poo Market area, fans climbed the iron gate and entered the theatre.



The police, who were on guard duty, removed the fans. When the show started at 5 o'clock, only the fans who had already taken tickets were allowed into the theatre.

There was a brief commotion in the area due to the bomb blast. Police are also investigating the alleged injuries to some fans in the bombing.
