Coimbatore: Dr P R Krishna Kumar, who was the Chancellor of Avinashilingam University and Managing Director of Arya Vaidya Pharmacy, passed away, yesterday at a private hospital in Coimbatore, due to Covid-19 and post amputation complications.

A condolence meeting was held at the Thiruchitrambalam auditorium of Avinashilingam University to condole the demise of Dr Krishna Kumar.
Avinashilingam Educational Trust Institution's Managing Trustee and Avinashilingam University, Former Chancellor Dr TSK Meenakshisundaram, presided over the condolence meeting and paid glowing tributes to late Dr Krishna Kumar.
Lifetime Trustee and Former Chancellor Kulandaivel noted that Dr Krishna Kumar was the seventh chancellor of the University. He discharged his duties as chancellor and earned a reputed name in ayurveda medicine, he said.
Trustee member and Former Registrar of the University Dr.Gowri Ramakrishnan, Dr Premavathi Vijayan, Vice Chancellor, Dr.Kausalaya,Registrar non-teaching staff and students recalled the service of Dr Krishna Kumar to the university.
