Tirupur: Tamil Nadu Veerapandiya Kattabomman Panpattu Kazhagam Amaippu protested in Tirupur demanding erection of a full-body statue of the first freedom fighter, martyr Veerapandiya Kattabomman in Chennai.
They demanded that Kambalathar should be given 5 per cent quota in the MBC category, the Government of Tamil Nadu should immediately set up a Kambalathar Rehabilitation Welfare Board, and the Government should erect a full-body statue of Veerapandiya Kattabomman in Chennai.
The protestors also demanded action against anti-social elements who have been spreading slander against the Telugu-speaking people on social media spaces.
The protest was staged in front of the Tirupur Kumaran Memorial.
