With the upcoming festive season, Southern Railway will operate weekly special trains between Ernakulam Junction and Patna Junction via Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem and Jolarpettai from October 2 to November 3, 2026, to meet increased passenger demand.
Coimbatore: With the festive season approaching, from the Puja holidays to Diwali, Southern Railway has announced special weekly trains between Ernakulam Junction in Kerala and Patna Junction in Bihar to meet the anticipated increase in passenger demand. The trains will operate via Podanur, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem and Jolarpettai, providing additional travel options for passengers during the festive period.
Train No. 06085 Ernakulam Junction–Patna Junction Weekly Special will operate on Fridays from October 2 to October 30, 2026. The train will depart from Ernakulam Junction at 9.30 p.m. and reach Patna Junction at 3.30 a.m. on Mondays. On Saturdays, it will arrive at Podanur Junction at 2.18 a.m. and depart at 2.20 a.m., reach Tiruppur at 3.00 a.m. and depart at 3.05 a.m., arrive at Erode Junction at 3.55 a.m. and depart at 4.05 a.m., reach Salem Junction at 5.05 a.m. and depart at 5.10 a.m., and arrive at Jolarpettai Junction at 7.03 a.m. and depart at 7.05 a.m.
Train No. 06086 Patna Junction–Ernakulam Junction Weekly Special will operate on Tuesdays from October 6 to November 3, 2026. It will depart from Patna Junction at 12.10 a.m. and reach Ernakulam Junction at 10.45 a.m. on Thursdays. On Wednesdays, the train will stop at Jolarpettai Junction from 9.40 p.m. to 9.42 p.m. and Salem Junction from 11.08 p.m. to 11.13 p.m. On Thursdays, it will arrive at Erode Junction at 12.15 a.m. and depart at 12.25 a.m., reach Tiruppur at 1.25 a.m. and depart at 1.30 a.m., and stop at Podanur Junction from 4.58 a.m. to 5.00 a.m.
The trains will stop at several stations, including Aluva, Thrissur, Palakkad, Podanur, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Perambur, Vijayawada, Bhubaneswar, Kharagpur, Patna City and Rajendra Nagar Terminal. The trains will comprise AC First Class-cum-AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class, General Second Class and Luggage-cum-Brake Van coaches.
