Special ward for COVID-19 patients with 130 beds being prepared in Pollachi

Coimbatore: In Pollachi, an additional special ward with 130 bed facilities is being prepared as coronavirus infection is on the rise. As the coronavirus pandemic in Pollachi is increasing day by day, there is a shortage of space in the Pollachi Government Hospital.

Coimbatore: In Pollachi, an additionalspecial ward with 130 bed facilities is being prepared as coronavirus infection is on the rise. As the coronavirus pandemic in Pollachi is increasing day by day, there is a shortage of space in the Pollachi Government Hospital.

Therefore, Pollachi Revenue and Health Department officials have converted Pollachi Municipal Girls' High School and Nachimuthu Maternity Hospital into special coronavirus wards.



As part of this, a private hall in Pollachi Jyoti Nagar has been set up as a special ward with 130 bed facilities, where essentials are kept ready.



This special coronavirus treatment center was inspected today by Pollachi Sub-Collector Vaithiyanathan and Governor, Thanikaivel. According to the concerned authorities, 145 people have been affected in Pollachi so far in 4 taluks including Pollachi Town, Kinathukadavu, Anaimalai and Valparai. Of those, 110 recovered and returned home.

The remaining 35 confirmed cases are being treated at a government hospital. Only one 44-year-old florist from Zameen Uthukkuli died. Serious action is being taken by health officials to control the coronavirus infection. In addition, the infected are being treated at a government hospital. Apart from the government hospital, special wards are also on standby, they said.
