COVID-19: Tirupur posts 37 new cases, 14 recoveries and 4 fatalities

Tirupur district reported 37 new COVID-19 cases today. The case tally of the district breached the 1,200 mark and stood at 1,233.



Tirupur: Tirupur district reported 37 new COVID-19 cases today. The case tally of the district breached the 1,200 mark and stood at 1,233.

There are 377 active cases. The district discharged 14 recovered patients.

The total of people under home quarantine amounts to 4,314 with the addition of 149 persons who were quarantined today. As many as 189 persons completed the 14-day quarantine today.

Samples for testing were collected from 560 people today.

The district reported 4 COVID fatalities over the last 24 hours.

A 48-year-old man from Pudukadu, Tirupur with comorbidities including hypertension who turned COVID positive and was admitted to Tirupur GH on August 1 passed away today.

A 68-year-old male from Tirupur with the comorbidities of coronary artery disease and chronic kidney disease who turned COVID positive and was admitted to a private hospital on August 1 in Coimbatore succumbed to the illness today.

A 79-year-old male from Tirupur with the comorbidities of diabetes and hypertension who turned COVID positive and was admitted to Tirupur GH on August 8 passed away today.

A 65-year-old female from Tirupur-Kangayam Road with the comorbidities of coronary artery disease, diabetes and hypertension who turned COVID positive and was admitted to Tirupur GH on August 1 passed away today.
