Coimbatore: A 44-year-old flower trader from Zamin Uthukuli, who tested positive for COVID-19 succumbed to the illness, leaving the people of the locality grieving.



Coimbatore: A 44-year-old flower trader from Zamin Uthukuli, who tested positive for COVID-19 succumbed to the illness, leaving the people of the locality grieving.

A resident of the Zamin Uthukuli area suffered from cold, cough and fever for the past few days. Following this he got himself tested for COVID-19 at the Coimbatore ESI hospital. His results came out positive last evening.

Following this, it was decided to transfer him to Pollachi GH this morning, but before that could happen, he suffered from acute breathing difficulty and passed away en route.



The Health department officials are now involved in fumigating the area where the person resided. Measures have been taken to cremate his body in a safe manner. The health department officials also are about to test the deceased person's relatives and friends who had been in contact with him.
