Tirupur's COVID-19 tally reaches 1,000 with 23 new cases, today

Tirupur: Tirupur district reported 23 more new Covid-19 cases with two deaths, on Tuesday, thus taking the number of infections in the district to 1,000, as per the reports from the State bulletin.


Tirupur: Tirupur district reported 23 more new Covid-19 cases with two deaths, on Tuesday, thus taking the number of infections in the district to 1,000, as per the reports from the State bulletin.

In the last 24 hours, two deaths - A 52-year-old male from Devarampalayam, Thirumuruganpoondi and a 45-year-old female from KVR nagar Odakarai have been reported. Both the patients reportedly died at Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital.

The new fatalities have taken the toll to 16. Altogether, 653 patients have so far been discharged with 31 cases discharged today, as per the state bulletin.

986 people were subjected to Covid-testing today and 331 active cases are being treated at hospitals in Tirupur and Coimbatore.
