Tirupur: A cell phone tower that lacked maintenance, on the Tirupur Palladam road collapsed on a two wheeler causing grievous injuries to the motorist, killing him.
Tirupur: A cellphone tower near the TamilNadu theatre, that lacked maintenance, collapsed and fell on a two wheeler on Palladam road.
This caused grievous injuries to Chengiskhan (54), who succumbed to the injuries and died on the spot. Similarly the tower also caused damage to a car that was also on the road.
This incident created heavy traffic jam on the Palladam road and the police who received information regarding this rushed to the spotand retrieved the body of Chengiskhan and cleared the collapsed tower. Traffic was halted for more than half an hour in the area.
In another similar incident a couple of days ago, another cellphone tower collapsed due to the heavy winds and rain. Since this incident occurred during the night a major accident was avoided.
Recurring incidents of Collapsing cellphone towers has caused panic and the public have requested for the maintenance of the towers to be undertaken immediately.
