Coimbatore: A woman near Coimbatore has lodged a complaint stating that a man posing as army personnel selling his car on OLX has swindled Rs. 1.5 lakh from her.

Kannan and Kavitha are from Somayanur, Coimbatore. Kannan runs a workshop in the same area. The couple got in touch with a person who claimed that he was serving in the Indian Army and wanted to sell his car at a price of Rs. 2 lakh through online reselling site OLX. He sent them scanned copies of ID cards.
Relying on this, Kannan transferred Rs. 1.50 lakh in installments to the person's bank account. He has said that he will deliver the car to their house if they pay the remaining 50 thousand rupees. Since then he has not been responding properly. The name is shown as Parvesh Kumar in his ID copies and also is seen wearing the uniform of a soldier.
Kannan's wife Kavita lodged a complaint with the District Superintendent upon suspicion whether he is serving in the army. In the complaint, she demanded that he return the money as he did not deliver the car. Kavita said that when they lodged a complaint at the Thadagam police station, they refused to accept it because of which she has come to the Superintendent of Police's office.
