Coimbatore: On September 21, 2026, Ward 27 Councillor Ambika Dhanapal inspected public welfare and sanitation works in Peelamedu under the Coimbatore Corporation North Zone, within Singanallur constituency. She checked the mid-day meal scheme at Peelamedu PSG Primary School, watched a rangoli awareness competition on waste segregation at Rajagopal Layout, reviewed mosquito fogging on Ganguvar Street, Kanakku Pillai Street and Kavetti Rangasamy Street, and oversaw garbage clearance near Peelamedu Ayyappan Temple, directing workers to maintain daily cleanliness and prevent waste from re-accumulating.
Coimbatore: Ward 27 Councillor Ambika Dhanapal on September 21, 2026 personally inspected a range of public welfare and sanitation activities in the Peelamedu area, which falls under the Coimbatore Corporation North Zone within the Singanallur assembly constituency.
She visited Peelamedu PSG Primary School to inspect the quality of the breakfast served to students under the Tamil Nadu government's morning meal scheme. She also spoke with the students to get their feedback about the food. School teachers were present during the inspection.
Following this, she observed a rangoli competition held as part of the ‘Coimbatore Corporation Cleanliness Service 2026’ scheme, aimed at creating public awareness about segregating waste generated in homes and establishments into four categories before handing it over to Corporation vehicles. Residents of Rajagopal Layout area took part in the competition with enthusiasm. Ward supervisor Eswari was present during the visit.
Ambika Thanapal also inspected mosquito fogging operations carried out in Peelamedu Ganguvar Street, Kanakku Pillai Street and Kavetti Rangasamy Street. She advised residents not to dump garbage and waste into drains and to keep their surroundings clean.
She further inspected the removal of garbage that had accumulated on the roadside in front of Peelamedu Ayyappan Temple. She instructed sanitation workers to completely clear all the garbage and maintain the area in a clean condition, and asked them to carry out daily cleaning work properly so that garbage does not accumulate again.
