Coimbatore: A total of 3,016 people have been tested positive for COVID-19 within the Coimbatore Corporation limits. Of this 2,084 people have recovered and have been discharged informed Corporation officials.

To control the spread of COVID-19 a lockdown has been in place since March 24. Now the lockdown has been granted relaxations and factories, businesses, autos and taxis have been permitted to operate with some restrictions.
In the midst of this the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases over the past few days has been due to the people arriving from other districts, states and other countries.
To control this the District Administration and the Corporation administration have been undertaking various measures in different phases. Meanwhile the number of COVID-19 cases in Coimbatore has gone past 4,000. Of this, the number of cases within the Corporation are 3,016.
Speaking regarding this a Corporation official said, "As on July 29, a total of 3,016 cases have been reported in the areas within the Coimbatore Corporation and 2,084 people have been discharged post recovery."
