Four-year-old boy from Coimbatore dies after choking on a piece of chicken

Coimbatore: In an unfortunate incident, a 4-year-old boy died after choking on a chicken piece in Coimbatore, on Friday.


Coimbatore: In an unfortunate incident, a 4-year-old boy died after choking on a chicken piece in Coimbatore, on Friday. 

According to reports, a couple, Kamatchi (30) and Pinky (28) along with their four-year-old son Rakesh were living at Mallika Nagar in Thondamuthur, here. Six months ago, the couple allegedly parted ways due to disagreement and the child was reportedly living with the mother. 

Meanwhile, it is alleged that Pinky has been living together with another person in Vembu Nagar in Vadavalli area. Reports say, that the boy was served chicken by his mother and unfortunately a piece of chicken choked in the boy's throat and he suffocated. 



Though the boy was rushed to a nearby private hospital, citing his critical condition the doctors  had allegedly asked them to shift him to government hospital. Following this, the boy was taken to the government hospital, were he was declared dead on arrival.

Hearing the boy's tragic death, the father of the child requested to handover the body to him after the autopsy. He also alleged that his son's death is suspicious and demanded a probe.  

A case had been filed at the Vadavalli police station.

As the victim is a minor, the name of the boy has been changed.
