Coimbatore: Pro-Hindu outfit Sakthi Sena Makkal Iayakkam has demanded action against CPIM's Sundaravalli who spoke disagreeably about the Thiruvasakam.
Thevaram is a religious song sung on the Hindu god Siva and is the first seven volumes of the Panniru Thirumurai and is greatly respected by the Hindus.
In this case, in a video on YouTube, Sundaravalli spoke about Thevaram and expressed controversial opinions, which has been condemned by many Hindu outfits. On those lines, the Sakthi Sena Hindu Makkal Iyakkam filed a complaint at the Commissioner's office demanding action against Sundaravalli.
The complaint read, "This speech has been delivered with the intent of not just hurting the religious Hindus but also to create riots and create law and order disturbances. The police must take action against Sundaravalli in order to establish social peace."
