TCoimbatore: Three Municipality workers who tested positive for COVID-19 in Pollachi decided to not wait for Health Department officials and walked through crowded areas to reach Pollachi GH. The COVID-19 prevention officer for Pollachi lodged a complaint against them at the Pollachi East Police station.
Coimbatore: Three Municipality workers who tested positive for COVID-19 in Pollachi decided to not wait for Health Department officials and walked through crowded areas to reach Pollachi GH. The COVID-19 prevention officer for Pollachi lodged a complaint against them at the Pollachi East Police station.
The Pollachi Municipal Commissioner and 12 other employees of the municipality tested positive for COVID-19. Following this, the entire Pollachi Municipality Office was fumigated and sealed for five days. Following this, all the municipality workers were subjected to PCR tests out of which three more tested positive.
It was reported that before the Health department workers could arrive to escort the trio to the hospital, they walked through crowded spots including Pollachi bus stand and Udumalaipettai Road before reaching Pollachi GH. The video of them arriving at the GH was captured by their friends.
Following this, the COVID-19 prevention, on his own accord, lodged complaints against the three atthe Pollachi East Police station. The complaint stated that they came out of isolation with the intent of spreading the disease. Police are conducting an enquiry into the matter.
