Coimbatore: A forest guard from the city was lauded for his exemplary display of honesty by handing over cash to Police which he found lying on the roadside, here on Thursday.
At around 12.45 PM today, forest guard Selvarajan from Kembanur Circle in Coimbatore Forest Range spotted 35, Rs.500 notes (Rs.17,500) lying on the street near the Uliyampalayam School for the visually impaired on the Sundapalayam-Thaliyur road within the Thondamuthur Police station limits.
Thoughtfully, Selvarajan immediately retrieved the money and handed it over at the Thondamuthur police station. Lauding his act of honesty, Police Superintendent Arularasu expressed his appreciations to Forest Guard Selvarajan.
The Police have informed that the person who lost the money can claim it back after providing identity proof.
