Coimbatore: Youngster who absconded after stabbing a college girl and her dad was nabbed in Kerala.
Rithish and Kavitha (18, name changed), a first year B.Com student at a private college here, from Coimbatore's Arumuga Goundanur were in love but her parents objected to it. So, she began avoiding him.
Upset over this, Rithish visited Kavitha's home around 8.30 on July 17 and confronted her. When she came out, the two got into an argument and the man knifed her.
On hearing her scream, Kavitha's father, Kumar (48, name changed), came out and he was also stabbed on his hands.
While Kumar's condition is stable, Kavitha succumbed to her injuries on Saturday. Perur police registered a case and were investigating.
Three special teams were formed to nab an absconding Rithish. After intense search efforts, the police arrested Ratheesh from his relatives’ home in Thrissur, Kerala. He was then brought to Thondamuthur station for enquiry.
Under the circumstances, Police called one of Ritihish's relatives and asked him to bring clothes and food for Rithish. When he arrived at the station, the deceased girl's relatives who were in front of the station started attacking him. Tense moments prevailed as both parties attacked each other in front of the police station.
Also there seems to be a problem in transferring Rithish from Thondamuthur Police station to the one at Perur.
