Coimbatore: Over 20,000 people were served free ghee rice at Ukkadam GM Nagar in Coimbatore on the occasion of Miladi Nabi festival, organized by Sunnath Jamath. The Tabruk event featured ghee rice prepared from approximately 2000 kg of rice, distributed to people from all walks of life.

Miladi Nabi, marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad, who is revered as the Islamic messenger, is celebrated with various events that highlight the Prophet's virtues and charitable nature among the public. Feeding the poor and needy is considered a sacred directive given to Muslims, which forms the foundation of such community initiatives.

Following this principle, Islamic organizations across Coimbatore organized Tabruk food distribution events in various localities. At Ukkadam GM Nagar, separate queues were arranged for men and women, with food distribution beginning early morning and continuing throughout the day.

The event witnessed participation not only from local residents but also from people visiting from surrounding areas who came to receive the meal. Sunnath Jamath has been organizing this free ghee rice distribution for the past ten years, with this being the 11th consecutive year of the charitable initiative.

Miladi Nabi is celebrated as one of the major festivals among Muslims. On this day, food, clothing, and financial assistance are distributed to the underprivileged across various locations. Such charitable activities are undertaken as a way to follow the teachings and noble qualities of the Prophet.
